Terms and Conditions
Effective as of October 5, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to Video Converter, provided by Pegasus Studio. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Read the Privacy Policy for information about local processing, storage, permissions, and sharing.
2. Description of the Service
Video Converter is an Android utility for converting video and audio formats, compressing media, extracting audio, trimming clips, and merging files. Depending on the selected format, it provides presets, resolution and aspect-ratio settings, frame-rate options, audio and subtitle controls, previews, and a processing queue.
The app processes selected media on your device and saves completed files locally. Available features can depend on your Android version, device capabilities, input files, output format, and app version.
3. Your Media and Permissions
You retain your rights in the media you provide. Using Video Converter does not transfer ownership of your media to Pegasus Studio or grant you rights in someone else’s content.
You are responsible for having permission to access, convert, modify, store, and share the files you use. Respect copyrights, licenses, privacy, consent requirements, and other applicable rights. Changing a file’s format does not remove restrictions on its use or distribution.
4. Responsible and Lawful Use
You agree to use the app lawfully. Do not use it to distribute unlawful content, violate another person’s privacy, infringe intellectual-property rights, or carry out harmful, fraudulent, or abusive activities.
Do not remove or misrepresent notices where doing so would violate applicable law or a relevant license. Any rights to study, modify, copy, or redistribute open-source software remain governed by its applicable licenses.
5. Processing and Format Limitations
Not every codec, file, subtitle track, frame rate, or combination of settings can be supported. Damaged, encrypted, protected, unusually large, or unsupported files may fail to load, preview, convert, or export.
Conversion and compression can change quality, file size, metadata, timing, color, subtitles, audio tracks, resolution, or playback compatibility. Trimming may be limited by frame and sample boundaries. Merge layouts and duration depend on the selected settings and clips.
Progress, speed, duration, and output-size estimates are approximate. Processing can stop or be interrupted because of insufficient storage, overheating, battery conditions, operating-system restrictions, device failure, or unsupported settings. A completed job does not guarantee that another app or device can play the result.
6. Backups and File Management
You are responsible for your backups and for reviewing file-management actions. Deleting generated media or moving files can permanently remove a copy from its previous location. Clearing temporary files can remove working copies needed for a pending job.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage can remove local preferences, presets, queue records, and cached files. Exported media in shared storage or another destination may remain and need to be managed separately.
7. Permissions and Background Processing
The app uses permissions and Android platform services for selected files, saving results, notifications, and background processing. You can manage permissions in your device settings. Disabling them may affect related features.
Background processing is subject to your device’s battery, memory, storage, and operating-system policies. Progress notifications may reveal file names on your device’s notification screen. Configure your device’s notification privacy settings as appropriate.
8. Intellectual Property and Open-Source Software
The Video Converter name, branding, and original materials are owned by Pegasus Studio or their respective rights holders. These terms do not grant a right to misrepresent affiliation with Pegasus Studio or use its branding without permission.
The app includes FFmpegKit, FFmpeg, Flutter, and other third-party software governed by their own licenses. Relevant notices can be viewed in Settings → About → Open-source licenses. The app’s FFmpegKit build includes software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.
Nothing in these terms restricts rights granted by an applicable open-source license, including rights to use, inspect, modify, copy, or redistribute covered software. If these terms conflict with a software license concerning rights in that software, the software license governs.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
File pickers, storage services, playback apps, sharing destinations, browsers, and app stores may be provided by third parties. Their services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Pegasus Studio does not control their availability, file handling, security, content, or compatibility. When you choose to share or open a file in another app, you are responsible for choosing an appropriate destination.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Video Converter is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, Pegasus Studio does not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free processing, preservation of every media feature, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility with every file, app, or device.
This disclaimer does not remove warranties or consumer protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Pegasus Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use the app, including lost data, damaged files, lost work, lost profits, or reliance on an exported result.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or legal rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Updates and Availability
We may update the app or change, add, or discontinue features. Updates may be distributed through the app store. We do not guarantee continued support for every device, Android version, codec, or file format.
Keep backups before installing updates or changing your device. Your rights in software already received under an open-source license remain subject to that license.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms and update the effective date shown above. Changes apply from their stated effective date, subject to applicable law. We will give additional notice where required. Continued use after the applicable effective date indicates acceptance where legally permitted.
14. Severability and Legal Rights
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. These terms do not override mandatory consumer rights or applicable open-source licenses.
