Privacy Policy
Effective as of October 5, 2026
Pegasus Studio provides Video Converter as an Android app for converting, compressing, trimming, and merging video and audio files. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.
Information You Choose to Provide
You may select video and audio files, import subtitles or replacement audio, add a soundtrack, choose output names, and create conversion presets. The app reads the selected files and their media information to provide the features you request.
This information can include file names and locations, duration, size, resolution, frame rate, audio and subtitle tracks, codec information, and embedded metadata. The app may generate thumbnails and audio waveforms for local previews and trim timelines.
Conversion, compression, audio extraction, trimming, audio replacement, and merging take place on your device. An internet connection is not required for these operations.
Permissions
- Selected media and files: the app uses Android’s media and file pickers to access files you choose. It also uses Android’s media library to save and manage generated video and audio files.
- Storage on older Android versions: storage permissions may be used to read or save media where required by your Android version.
- Notifications: the app may request permission to show conversion progress and completion notifications. Notifications can include file names and progress, depending on your device’s notification settings.
- Background processing: foreground-service and wake-lock permissions help queued jobs continue while the app is in the background. They do not provide access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
- Network status: the release app includes permission to check network availability. This does not give it permission to upload your files.
Video Converter does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, phone, or account permissions. You can manage permission choices in your device’s app settings. Disabling a permission may affect related features.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores preferences, built-in and custom presets, queue items, processing settings, trim ranges, merge selections, output names, job status, and error details locally. These records help restore your settings and pending jobs when you reopen the app.
Selected media may be copied into temporary app storage for processing. Working files, preview images, waveforms, and unfinished outputs may also be stored locally. Completed results are normally saved in the Movies/Video Converter or Music/Video Converter folders and appear in the Output library.
Converted files may retain some metadata from their source files, depending on the format and settings. Review the content and metadata before sharing a result if it contains sensitive information.
Retention and Deletion
Local settings and queue records remain on your device until they are changed, removed, or the app’s storage is cleared. Temporary working files remain until normal cache cleanup, device cleanup, or the app’s temporary-file cleanup removes them.
- Use Settings → Storage → Clear temporary files to remove available conversion working copies. Cleanup may be unavailable while jobs still need those files.
- Delete individual generated files from Output, or use Settings → Storage → Delete generated media to remove results managed by the app.
- Clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app to remove app-private settings, queue records, and cached data, subject to your device’s behavior.
- Completed files in shared storage, and files copied or moved to another folder, may remain after uninstalling. Delete those files separately through the app, your media library, or a file manager.
Deleting a queue item does not necessarily delete an already exported file. Clearing temporary files does not remove every completed result. Pegasus Studio cannot retrieve or delete local media remotely because the app does not upload it to us.
Sharing, External Links, and Support
When you choose to open or share a result, Android passes the selected file to the app or service you choose. That recipient may store or upload it under its own privacy policy. Video Converter does not automatically share your media.
Legal links and the Rate App option open an external browser or app store. Share App shares the store link through an app you choose. Those external apps and websites handle information under their own policies.
If you contact Pegasus Studio for support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your contact details, message, attachments, or diagnostic information. We use it to respond to your request. Avoid sending private media unless it is necessary for the support you are requesting.
Third-Party Software and Platform Services
Video Converter uses third-party software, including Flutter, FFmpegKit, FFmpeg, media playback components, and libraries for local preferences, permissions, file selection, and sharing. These support the app’s on-device features. License notices are available in Settings → About → Open-source licenses.
The app does not include advertising, analytics, remote crash-reporting, account, or automatic cloud-backup features. Its Android release build does not request internet permission. The app manifest disables Android cloud backup for app-private data; device transfers and backups of shared media may still follow your device’s settings and the policies of the services you use.
Android, Google Play, your device manufacturer, and apps you open separately may process technical or account information under their own policies. Relevant information includes:
Logs and Diagnostics
Processing status, codec messages, and error details can be kept locally to explain a failed job and support retries. Video Converter does not automatically send these logs or your app activity to Pegasus Studio.
Your operating system or app store may independently handle device information, performance reports, or installation details according to its own settings and policies.
Cookies and This Website
The Video Converter app does not use cookies. These static policy pages do not contain analytics scripts, advertising scripts, or code that sets cookies.
When you visit a website, the browser and hosting service may process connection information such as an IP address, browser information, the requested page, and access time. Hosting services and external websites may also use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. This is separate from the app’s local media processing.
Security
Keeping media processing on the device reduces the need to transmit your files. However, no device or storage method is completely secure. Protect access to your device, review the apps you share files with, and keep separate backups of important media.
Children’s Privacy
Video Converter is a general-purpose media utility and is not designed specifically for children. It does not ask children to create accounts or upload media to Pegasus Studio. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support channel, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when the app or its information-handling practices change. The effective date above will identify the current version. We will provide additional notice or request consent where required by applicable law.
