Privacy Policy

Pegasus Studio built Ruler as an offline-first measurement app. This Service is provided by Pegasus Studio and is intended for use as is.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Ruler.
Information You Choose to Provide
You may choose to save measurements and add names, notes, project names, or tags. You may mark records as favorites, archive them, delete them, restore them, or import a backup. This information is used only to provide the features you request.
Ruler does not upload your measurements or notes to Pegasus Studio.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores settings such as measurement unit, theme, display calibration, ruler edge offset, screen-awake preference, haptic preference, snapping precision, and onboarding status. Saved measurements and their optional metadata are stored in a local database.
Deleted measurements remain in Recently deleted for up to 30 days unless you restore or permanently delete them. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes locally stored information, subject to your device's backup and deletion behavior.
Device Sensors and System Features
The Bubble Level and Angle Finder use motion sensor readings supplied by your device. Sensor values are processed on your device and are not sent to Pegasus Studio.
If you enable Keep screen awake, Ruler asks Android to keep the display awake while the app is running. If you enable Haptic feedback, Ruler asks Android to provide touch vibrations. These features do not collect personal information.
Files, Import, Export, and Sharing
When you choose to import a backup, Android's system file picker lets you select a file. Ruler accesses only the file you choose. When you export or share measurements, Ruler creates a JSON or CSV file and sends it to the destination you select through the system share sheet.
Shared files can contain measurement names, values, notes, projects, tags, dates, and other saved details. Review a file before sharing it. Once information is sent to another app or person, their privacy practices apply.
Permissions
Ruler does not request access to your camera, photos, microphone, contacts, location, phone, or account. Android or included libraries may declare limited technical capabilities needed for features such as keeping the screen awake, haptic feedback, file selection, motion sensors, and app distribution.
Third-Party Services
Ruler uses Flutter and third-party libraries for local storage, system file selection, sharing, opening external links, motion sensors, keeping the display awake, and app distribution. Ruler does not include advertising, user analytics, crash reporting, accounts, or a Pegasus Studio cloud service.
Google Play and your operating system may independently process app installation, purchase, device, diagnostic, security, or usage information under their own policies.
External Links
The Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, app store listing, and content you choose to share may open another app or website. Once you leave Ruler, the privacy policy of that external service applies. Pegasus Studio is not responsible for third-party content or privacy practices.
Log and Diagnostic Information
Ruler does not operate a server that receives your measurements or app activity. Your operating system, app store, device manufacturer, or third-party libraries may independently process limited technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, performance, and error details.
Cookies
The Ruler app does not use cookies. This website or external websites linked from it may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies.
Security
We use reasonable measures to keep app information local and limit requested access. However, no device or electronic storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and any exported files.
Children's Privacy
Ruler is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information to Pegasus Studio should contact us through the support channel listed on the app store page.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. Updated terms take effect when posted on this page. Please review it periodically.
