Pegasus Studio built the Rock Scanner app as a mobile app. This Service is provided by Pegasus Studio and is intended for use as is.
This page explains our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use Rock Scanner.
Information Collection and Use
Rock Scanner is designed to identify rocks and gemstones from photos using on-device scanning and offline reference information. The app does not require you to create an account to use its core scanning and field guide features.
The app may ask for access to your camera, photos, or device files so you can take or choose an image for scanning. Photos selected or captured for scanning are processed on your device for object detection and prediction. We do not upload your photos to our servers for identification.
If you keep prediction history enabled by using the app normally, Rock Scanner stores recent scan results and the cropped image used for prediction inside the app's local storage on your device. This history is used only so you can review previous predictions. You can delete saved prediction history from within the app.
The app includes an offline rock and gemstone information database bundled with the app. Looking up item details from this database does not require an internet connection and does not send a request to our servers.
Third-Party Services
Rock Scanner may use third-party libraries or platform services to provide app functionality such as image picking, camera access, object detection, crash reporting, analytics, app distribution, or payment processing if such features are added or enabled in the app version you use.

Log Data
In the event of an error in the app, diagnostic information may be collected by the device, operating system, app store, or third-party services used in the app. This Log Data may include information such as device type, operating system version, app version, time and date of use, feature state when the error occurred, and other technical statistics. If crash or analytics services are enabled in a future version, their privacy policies will apply to the information they process.
Cookies
Rock Scanner does not use cookies directly in its core app features. However, third-party services or linked websites may use cookies or similar technologies. If you visit an external website from the app or from this policy page, that website's privacy policy applies.
Local Storage
Rock Scanner may store app settings, selected theme, default scan mode, offline database files, prediction history, and cropped scan images locally on your device. This information remains on your device unless you delete it in the app, clear app data, uninstall the app, or your operating system removes it.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons:
- To provide or improve the Service;
- To support app distribution and updates;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To help us understand and fix app errors if diagnostics are enabled.
These third parties may have access to information only as needed to perform tasks on our behalf. They are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Security
We value your trust and use commercially reasonable means to protect information associated with the Service. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

This Service may contain links to external sites. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. External sites are not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of those websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for third-party content, privacy policies, or practices.
Children's Privacy
This Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for changes. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
